SYMPTOMS OF CHLAMYDIA INFECTION About 75% of women and 50% of men will not have any symptoms when they are infected with chlamydia. This illness may include one or more of the following symptoms:
Women:
* Abnormal vaginal discharge
* Burning sensation when urinating
* Lower abdominal pain
* Low back pain
* Nausea
* Fever
* Pain during intercourse
* Bleeding between menstrual periods
Men:
* Discharge from penis
* Burning sensation when urinating
* Itching around the opening of the penis
* Pain and swelling in the testicles
Men and women:
* Rectal pain, discharge and/or bleeding
* Sore throat
These symptoms usually occur within 1 to 3 weeks after infection.
